In Iran, an Accused of Espionage in Favour of the CIA Was Executed
OREANDA-NEWS. Tasnim agency reports that on July 20, Iranian authorities executed Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd, accused of spying for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA, USA) and transmitting information about the movements of General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by American military in January.
The investigation against Mousavi-Majd began before the death of Suleimani. Tehran identified the spy by tracing his telephone conversations with representatives of the CIA. He was accused not only of spying for the United States, but also of working for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. The executed, according to the Iranian court, collected information about the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, one of the units of which was headed by Soleimani, transferred it to foreign special services and received a reward in US dollars for this. Mousavi-Majd also provided Americans with information about weapons, telecommunications, the location of military facilities and secret codes. In addition, it is alleged that he tried to establish contact with the intelligence of Saudi Arabia.
