OREANDA-NEWS In 2024, investors will invest more than 1 billion rubles in the creation of 550-room hotels in Dagestan, the total number of rooms in the region will increase by 5%, the press service of the Ministry of Tourism of the region told TASS.

"By the end of this year, nine investment projects will be implemented, more than 1 billion rubles of investments have been attracted and 550 comfortable rooms have been created," the message says.

The ministry notes that the number of rooms in the republic is increasing along with the increased interest in tourist services. In 2024, according to estimates by tour operators and industry experts, interest in tourist services in Dagestan increased by 20% compared to 2023. The booking period is from three to seven months.

Dagestan is the leader among Russian regions in terms of tourist flow growth. If in 2022 about 1 million 560 thousand tourists visited the republic, then by the end of 2023 this figure increased to 1 million 750 thousand people. The total number of rooms in the republic in 2023 amounted to about 10.5 thousand rooms.
