The President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania signed an order “On the Establishment of Certain Measures to Protect the Health of the Population of the Republic from Coronavirus Infection COVID-19,” according to which restrictive measures are introduced in connection with the increase in the incidence of disease.

“From October 5, 2020, on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia, it is prohibited to hold mass, sports, entertainment and exhibition events in the premises… wedding and other solemn events,” the message published on the website of the head of the republic says. It is recommended to limit the number of participants in public events. In public catering, it is necessary to ensure that a social distance of at least 1.5 metres is observed, and the attendants must be provided with personal protective equipment. Administrations of grocery stores need to ensure their disinfection.
