OREANDA-NEWS  Four IL-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces evacuated from Sudan employees of the Russian diplomatic mission, representative offices of the Russian Defense Ministry and their families, citizens of the Russian Federation, CIS countries and a number of friendly foreign states who applied for assistance in their return to their homeland, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

Four IL-76 VKS military transport aircraft were used for evacuation.

The day before, an informed source in the Sudanese capital Khartoum announced the evacuation of 203 people by the Russian embassy. Fighting has been going on in Sudan since April 15 between the Rapid Reaction Forces under the command of Mohammed Hamdan Daglo and the regular army. The opposing forces are exchanging contradictory statements about successes in combat operations and control over objects, having launched a large-scale information war in the media and social networks.

According to the Minister of Health of Sudan, the death toll in the clashes has increased to 600 people. The WHO representative in the country reported 459 dead and 4072 injured.
