OREANDA-NEWS. Russia provides Hungary with a life-saving vaccine and fuel, and 2021 can be called the most successful year for cooperation between the countries, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto said.
Hungary and Gazprom signed new contracts on September 27 for the supply of 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year over the next 15 years. Including 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year will come through Serbia (from the "Turkish Stream") and 1 billion - through Austria. On the morning of October 1, the first volumes of gas went through Serbia through the Balkan Stream gas pipeline, which receives gas from the Turkish Stream. Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botan-Kharchenko said earlier that Russian gas supplies to Hungary through Serbia through the Balkan GTS from the Turkish Stream gas pipeline would raise the Serbian economy and industry, as well as the country's political status.
"This year 2021 is the most, most successful and successful year in relations between Russia and Hungary ... The confirmation is that we have received a vaccine that saves lives, and fuel, life-saving gas from Russia," he said during a plenary meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Hungary and the Russian Federation.
The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has shown in Hungary the best efficacy against deaths from coronavirus disease in comparison with the other five vaccines based on data from 3.7 million vaccinated.
Hungary became the first EU state to approve the Sputnik V vaccine.
