OREANDA-NEWS  The main focus in the fight against the high-precision planning guided bombs JDAM-ER, which the United States supplied to Ukraine, should take the Russian air defense systems S-400 and S-500. This was told to MK by an expert in the field of air defense, retired Colonel Yuri Knutov.

The specialist recalled that the JDAM-ER is guided by the GPS system with an accuracy of 10-15 meters. The range of the bombs, according to the expert, is 80 kilometers, and aircraft are required to launch them.

"Therefore, there is a possibility that the West will still decide on the supply of aircraft, which will be operated by foreign pilots from among the supposedly volunteers who joined the ranks of the armed forces of Ukraine," the expert admits.

In his opinion, the S-400 and S-500 systems should take the main emphasis in the fight against planning bombs.

"Plus Russian Su-35 fighters, which are capable of destroying enemy aircraft at a great distance, even before they get on the radars of the Ukrainian air defense. If we start using all this effectively and in a timely manner, then there is a chance that the enemy will simply have nothing with which to use these aviation means," the specialist said.
