Georgia Prolonged State of Emergency till May 22
OREANDA-NEWS. Due to coronavirus epidemic, the Georgian government extended the state of emergency in the country till May 22. This was announced on April 21 by Irakli Chikovani, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia. “It was decided to extend the state of emergency until May 22, the government’s decision was sent to the president for approval,” the politician said.
For the first time, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia reported about the introduction of a state of emergency amid the spread of coronavirus infection on March 21. Ten days later, a general quarantine and curfew were imposed on the territory of the country. In addition, last week, the Georgian authorities decided to ban the movement of cars.
