OREANDA-NEWS. The Georgian authorities have issued to the United States a Russian citizen Oleg Tishchenko, who is accused of allegedly attempting to export the flight manuals of American fighter jets; he is already in the United States and is awaiting trial, follows from the database of the American judicial system.
“The five-day jury trial, which was previously scheduled for May 20, 2019, was postponed until 08.30 in the morning (17.30 Moscow time) on August 19, 2019. The time elapsed since the filing of the petition (to postpone the trial) on May 6, 2019 to the new trial date on August 19, 2019 is excluded from the calculation of the duration of the trial of the defendant under an accelerated procedure, ”the Russian media report of the decision of the judge of the Northern District of Utah Dale Kimball.
The decision of the judge is dated May 6, 2019. The judge acknowledged that Tishchenko’s defense needed time to prepare for the process, otherwise a judicial error was possible. The Russian was charged on June 15, 2016 in absentia. They were able to arrest him only this year, when Georgia satisfied the US request for the surrender of a suspect. Tbilisi and Washington have an agreement on the mutual extradition of the accused. The court base contains testimony of the special agent of the Department of Homeland Security (USB), Matthew Lowry, dated June 19, 2018. He outlined the grounds for the request for extradition Tishchenko, who calls himself a video game developer in the Russian company Eagle Dynamics.
In the Kremlin, the extradition of the Russian Oleg Oleg Tishchenko, who was detained in Georgia, was negatively treated in the US. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. “This is a Russian citizen. We are generally very worried and unhappy".
