FSB reported about Prevention of a Terrorist Attack in Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. The Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) reported that in Moscow, a terrorist attack in a crowded place was prevented.
It is known that the criminal is a native of Central Asia. He was killed during a shootout in the city of Khimki near Moscow. According to the FSB, he was preparing to shoot people. “The activity of a member of a terrorist organization who was planning to commit a terrorist act in one of the crowded places in Moscow was suppressed. […] As a result of retaliatory actions, the offender was neutralized (received injuries incompatible with life),” the FSB informed.
Representatives of the agency clarify that officers identified a “suspicious man” in the area of abandoned garages. While attempting to arrest him, he opened fire from automatic firearms. An assault rifle AKS-74U, three loaded magazines, and three grenades were found at the scene. In the apartment rented by the terrorist, officers found evidence of the criminal’s connection with “emissaries of international terrorists in Syria.”
The brother of the killed man was detained in the Moscow Region. It is alleged that he was looking for his relative for several days in order to prevent him from leaving for Syria to participate in terrorist activities. The FSB is looking for possible accomplices.
