OREANDA-NEWS The FSB told the details of the case of a Ukrainian spy, whom the court sentenced to 12 years in prison. According to the security forces, the convict filed an appeal against the verdict, but the third court of appeal of general jurisdiction refused to satisfy it, the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia reported.

According to the agency, the man was found guilty of transferring information constituting a state secret to a representative of a foreign state. He did not admit his guilt, insisting that he could have been stipulated.

We are talking about 61-year-old Ukrainian Konstantin Shiringa, FSB officers in Crimea detained him in April 2020. According to the intelligence services, he was part of a group of agents of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine operating on the peninsula.

It was supervised by the head of the unit stationed in Kherson, Colonel Oleg Akhmedov. The Ukrainians were helped by a Russian servicewoman — according to the FSB, from 2017 to 2018 she gave the GUR secret information available to her in the service. For this, she was accused of treason. In July 2021, the malefactor was convicted — she was given eight years in a penal colony with a two-year suspended sentence.
