OREANDA-NEWS The Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained two Russian citizens suspected of treason in the form of espionage in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

"As a result of a complex of counterintelligence measures, the illegal activities of two Russian citizens suspected of committing high treason in the form of espionage in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine were suppressed," the statement of the Russian special services said.

According to the department, a resident of Sevastopol was a supporter of Ukrainian ideology, and in 2016 he was recruited by the SBU. After the start of a special military operation, he transferred information about the location of objects of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to a foreign intelligence service for money, which could be used against Russian security.

It is noted that in the summer of this year, this citizen attracted another resident of Sevastopol to cooperate with him, who also collected and transmitted data on FSB facilities to the Ukrainian special services. Criminal cases have been initiated against the suspects under the article "high treason".
