OREANDA-NEWS. As reported on December 28 by the FSB of the Russian Federation, in a number of regions of the country, clandestine arms dealers, working for export, were detained, from whom, among other things, the "Val" special forces machine gun was confiscated.
The agency’s release says in this regard: "In cooperation with the internal affairs bodies and the Rosgvardia, the criminal activities of 28 residents of 13 regions of the country, involved in the restoration of the combat properties of civilian weapons in underground workshops and their sale, including abroad, were suppressed."
In total, 123 barrels were confiscated from illegal arms dealers, including 19 assault rifles (among them the silent "Val" special forces assault rifle), 24 submachine guns, 23 rifles and carbines, 57 pistols and revolvers.
Also, 15 mortar mines of various calibers, 12 hand grenades, over 9000 cartridges, 7 kilograms of gunpowder, knives and so on were found at the secret gunsmiths. 11 underground workshops closed.
Among the seized, as in many similar cases, there is a significant share of weapons from the times of the Great Patriotic War.
Confiscated "Val" was mentioned more than once in crime reports as a weapon from which contract killings were committed. In particular, it was from this weapon that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan Adilgerey Magomedtagirov was killed in 2009, and in 2013 - the crime boss Aslan Usoyan (Ded Khasan).
