OREANDA-NEWS. Officers of the Federal Security Service liquidated six clandestine military weapons repair shops.

According to the Centre of Public Relations of the FSB, as a result of the operation, the security forces seized 83 firearms. “The Federal Security Service has suppressed the criminal activities of 20 residents of the Republic of Crimea, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Voronezh, Kemerovo, Leningrad, Moscow, Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Tomsk regions,” the message says. The FSB indicates that the offenders are involved in restoring the combat characteristics of civilian weapons with the aim of selling them.

Assault rifles, submachine guns, rifles, carbines, pistols, revolvers were confiscated. In addition, FSB officers seized 16 grenades, more than 5 thousand service cartridges, five silencers and 150 bayonets.

At the beginning of August, the security forces stopped the underground activities of 12 workshops in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Belgorod, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions. Then officers detained 25 people and seized more than 100 weapons.
