OREANDA-NEWS. The officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) exposed a cell of an international terrorist organization in the city of Tver. Its members were engaged in “resource support” of the militants.

This was reported by the regional department of the agency. “The leader of the terrorist cell participated in the hostilities against the Syrian government forces,” the release says. However, it does not specify whether the leader of the unit was detained. It is known that the terrorist cell included natives of one of the republics of Central Asia.

Criminal proceedings regarding participation in a terrorist organization and assistance to terrorists have been instituted. A separate criminal case was brought against those who were aware of the activities of extremists, but did not report of them to the law enforcement authorities. The FSB officers continue searching who else is involved in the cell.
