OREANDA-NEWS The head of the Cybersecurity Agency, Yevgeny Lifshits, in an interview with the Moscow 24 website, estimated media reports that fraudsters pretended as employees of Russian banks are using a new type of telephone fraud.

“The bank does not call customers and asks nobody to establish anything, never asks to dictate the card number. Citizens need to remember that the bank does not deal with this,” he said.

According to Lifshitz, some time ago people were asked to install the TeamViewer program and open access to the phone. The method of fraud has remained the same, but now they operate with more sophisticated methods.
