Four forest fires are active in Buryatia on an area of 36 hectares

OREANDA-NEWS In Buryatia, there are four forest fires on almost 40 hectares, the fires are located far from populated areas, the press service of the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz) reported on Tuesday.
"From Ulan-Ude to the nearest forest fire is about 90 km. In total, four forest fires on 36 hectares are being extinguished in the region, 124 people and 27 units of special equipment have been involved in eliminating the fire in the forest. All forest fires are operating far from populated areas," the report says.
Over the past day, five fires on 115 hectares have been eliminated in the region. It is noted that the fires were caused by human fault and operate dozens of kilometers from the nearest settlements.
"The Federal Forestry Agency is closely monitoring the development of the situation in the Republic of Buryatia. Dangerous weather events are forecast in the region - winds are expected to increase to 15-24 m/s at night, thunderstorms and sandstorms in places. (...) To date, not a single forest fire that has arisen on the territory of Russia has caused damage to economic facilities or developed infrastructure," the agency's press service quotes the words of Deputy head of the Federal Forestry Agency Alexei Venglinsky.
