OREANDA-NEWS. The area of ​​fires in the forests of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reached almost 929 thousand hectares, there is no threat to human settlements, according to an operational report of the regional forest fire center on Thursday.

 The bulk of fires occur in hard-to-reach areas, where the cost of extinguishing exceeds the amount of possible damage and the fire is extinguished in the event of a threat to human settlements or infrastructure.  Forests are burning in Evenkiysky, Boguchansky, Kezhemsky, Taimyr areas.  The causes of forest fires are said to be natural in nature: in the north of the region, with thirty-degree heat, there was no rain for a long time, gusts of wind and dry thunderstorms were observed.

 In connection with the smoke screen from the Krasnoyarsk fires in Novosibirsk and Barnaul, a mode of unfavorable meteorological conditions, the so-called “black sky” mode, was introduced.  Among other things, it allows you to impose restrictions on the work of industrial enterprises.
