OREANDA-NEWS Volga electronic customs – is the first in Russia-opened electronic customs in Nizhny Novgorod on Wednesday.

The opening of the Volga electronic customs was held in the video bridge mode within the framework of the international customs forum-2018, which takes place in Moscow on October 24-25.

Volga electronic customs is a customs authority created within the framework of reforming the system of customs authorities, which provides for the concentration of customs Declaration in the regional Centers of electronic Declaration.

"It is a special pride that we are "customs cosmonauts", that it was in Nizhny Novgorod that this first step towards the transition to the digital economy took place... it will bring specific changes for business — reducing administrative barriers, costs and the likelihood of corruption. All this will lead to an increase in foreign trade and an increase in exports," — said the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.

Volga electronic customs will accept and register electronic declarations for goods and electronic documents and make decisions on the release of goods. The region of its activity is the Russian Federation. This is the first customs office of this format in Russia and the only one in the Volga Federal district.

"The fact that the first electronic customs in Russia was opened in the Volga Federal district is the merit of the Volga customs administration, which traditionally shows good results. But this is a special responsibility. The Volga electronic customs has a task to check all the services that have been introduced for the participants of foreign trade activities, and to identify shortcomings that need to be eliminated," said Deputy Plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal district Oleg Mashkovtsev.
