Finland Closes Borders with Sweden, Norway and Estonia due to COVID-19 Spread
OREANDA-NEWS. Finland authorities intend to close borders to tourism with Sweden, Norway and Estonia due to an increase in the number of detected cases of COVID-19 in these countries.
This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic on September 22. Border control will resume on Monday. The agency reported that the recommendation of a two-week quarantine upon arrival in Finland is being introduced for those entering from all countries where the number of registered cases exceeds 25 people per 100 thousand residents. However, the requirement for isolation will not apply to work travel.
On September 24, the Finnish authorities intend to revise the recommendations for tourism once again.
Finland lifted mandatory quarantine for travelers from Sweden on September 19.
