OREANDA-NEWS  The Federal Antimonopoly Service will study the logistics of some food products in the largest retail chains, the agency said.

"The analysis will affect the entire distribution chain of individual popular brands of butter and bread, as well as all commodity items of potatoes," the FAS explained.

The service requested information from suppliers, as well as from the Magnit, Pyaterochka, Dixy and Auchan retail chains, which are leaders in sales of these products. We are talking about data on the organization and volume of transportation, tariffs and persons providing transportation services.

Based on this information, the agency will assess how these costs affect the cost of the product to the buyer.
If the FAS finds signs of violations of the antimonopoly legislation, it will take action.

According to Rosstat, during the week (from December 17 to December 23) potatoes rose in price by 0.9%, butter — by 0.6%, bread — by 0.4%.
