OREANDA-NEWS The Federal Antimonopoly Service has opened cases against telecom operators MTS PJSC, Megafon PJSC and Vimpelcom PJSC, which did not cancel the charging of additional fees from subscribers in Crimea at the request of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
The FAS sent them such a warning in July, the agency recalled. Operators had to cancel an additional fee in excess of the subscription fee from users when they were in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
At the same time, the prerequisites for charging additional fees were eliminated following the results of the case against K-Telecom LLC (the main operator in Crimea).
"Tariffs for inter-operator roaming interaction services have been reduced by 2-3 times, which currently allows us to move to the final stage of creating comfortable conditions for subscribers traveling in Russia - the abolition of such fees," the FAS noted.
They added that Rostelecom's "daughter", the Tele2 mobile operator, notified the FAS that it would mark the surcharge from subscribers in Crimea from October 8.
"If guilt is established based on the results of consideration of antimonopoly cases, companies may be fined or an order may be issued to transfer illegally obtained income to the federal budget," the agency notes.
