OREANDA-NEWS Estonia has taken action against Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev, businessman Vyacheslav Kantor, and the sister of businessman Alisher Usmanov after they were removed from the EU sanctions lists, Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna announced.
On Friday, Agence France-Presse reported that Degtyarev, the former head of the Eurochem group, Vladimir Rashevsky, Kantor, and Gulbakhor Ismailova, the sister of businessman Alisher Usmanov, had been removed from the sanctions lists. As the agency noted, Hungary, which had previously opposed the extension of sanctions, agreed to this after four individuals were removed from the lists.
"I have decided to impose state financial sanctions against Kantor, Degtyarev, and Ismailova, who were removed from the EU sanctions list under pressure from Hungary," Tsakhna said, as quoted by the ERR television and radio company.
