OREANDA-NEWS  Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sent Russian leader Vladimir Putin a "nice Turkish birthday present." This was told by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov, TASS reports.

"The Turkish president sent a special gift before his conversation yesterday," he said. Answering the question about what else Putin received for his birthday, the presidential aide replied that "there were gifts."

Earlier, Erdogan congratulated the Russian leader on his birthday by phone. During the conversation, Putin and Erdogan discussed topical issues of bilateral relations and the international agenda, including the situation in the Middle East.

Press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, answering the question of whether Western politicians sent congratulations to Putin, noted that the leaders of unfriendly countries congratulated the head of state on his birthday.
