"On the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, supported by the Museum community, the entrance to most museums for women on international women's day on March, 8 will be free. Improving the cultural and educational levels of citizens, expanding access to cultural values is one of the priorities of the national cultural policy implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation," the press service said.
The Union of Museums of Russia headed by the General Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky supported this initiative. The State Historical Museum was one of the first to join the action of the Ministry of Culture.
