OREANDA-NEWS  Cyclists from Slovakia have become victims of equipment theft in the Olympic Village near Paris, said Amaury Brelet, a journalist for the French edition of Valeurs, on his account on the social network X, citing a police source.

"Cyclists from the Slovak delegation were robbed on Monday between 9.00 (10.00 Moscow time) and 17.00 (18.00 Moscow time) in the Olympic Village in (commune near Paris - ed.) Saint-Denis," the journalist wrote.

He added that the equipment was stored in an unlocked locker. We are talking about a dozen bicycle tires, spare parts and several switches. The amount of damage is estimated at 2.3 thousand euros. The coach of the team filed a police report.

On July 24, the head coach of the Argentine Olympic football team, Javier Mascherano, announced that the day before the match against the Moroccans, unknown people robbed the player of the Argentine team, Thiago Almada. The next day, a member of the Australian BMX cycling team and Olympic champion Logan Martin claimed that their team's van had been robbed on the way to the Olympics. On the opening day of the Games in Paris, the victim of a robbery was the former head coach of CSKA Moscow and the famous Brazilian football player Zico in the past.

The Olympic Games are held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
