OREANDA-NEWS. Officials want to ban ex-prisoners from appearing on TV, giving interviews to bloggers and publishing memoirs. A bill aimed at this will soon be submitted to the State Duma.

The author of the bill is State Duma deputy from United Russia Dmitry Sablin. In his opinion, the criminals, leaving the places of detention, with the assistance of journalists, become known. They are interviewed, invited to talk shows - this brings them income, as well as the publication of books with memories of the crimes committed, Izvestia reports.

The bill proposes for persons convicted of violent crimes to introduce an additional mandatory punishment in the form of a ban on speaking in any media, at public events, on the Internet, as well as on maintaining accounts on social networks, publishing biographies and memoirs.

It is proposed to punish not only the criminal, but also the media, publishing houses and other resources that disseminate this information.

Individuals will be punished with a fine in the amount of two times the paid fee, but not less than 300 thousand rubles. For media representatives, the fine will be three times the amount of the remuneration paid, but not less than 1 million rubles.

Entrepreneurs and legal entities will be fined five times the remuneration, but not less than 3 million rubles, or they will suspend their activities for up to six months.

The authors were prompted to create the bill by a Skopinsky maniac who was convicted of sexual assault in a makeshift bunker over two teenage girls for 4 years. Viktor Mokhov immediately after his release from the colony began to give interviews for money. The prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs asked to prescribe a ban on Mokhov's communication with the media in the requirements of administrative supervision, but the court refused.
