OREANDA-NEWS  Marmots-baibaks woke up and came out of their houses in the Bakhchisarai Miniature Park in Crimea, park director Viktor Zhilenko said.

"Baibaks come out of hibernation at the end of winter. They are the best forecasters, they definitely feel the approach of the seasons, which means that spring is coming into its own on the peninsula," he said.

Zhilenko added that the awakening happened a few weeks earlier than usual. The Bakhchisarai Miniature Park presents the historical, cultural and architectural sights of Crimea on a scale of 1 to 25. There is also a zoo on its territory, which is home to mammals, birds and reptiles.
