OREANDA-NEWS. The parties to the Libyan conflict at the talks in Geneva agreed to open roads between all areas and cities in the country. This was announced by UN Special Envoy to Libya, head of the UN Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Williams. In Geneva, under the auspices of the United Nations, inter-Libyan direct negotiations are being held in the format of the Joint Military Commission 5 + 5.

The two opposing sides have reached agreements on several important issues that directly affect the life and wellbeing of Libyans, Williams said. According to her, the parties agreed to open all roads that connect all regions and cities in Libya. It was also decided to open air routes, in particular, to resume flights to the administrative capital of the Sabha District.

Williams also informed that the parties decided to stop the spread of provocative media reports. They called on the judiciary to prosecute media that disseminate such statements and encourage violence.

The UN Special Envoy also spoke about the decision to maintain ceasefire on the front lines in Libya and avoid any military escalation, as well as support the exchange of captives.
