Clashes Resumed on the Armenia–Azerbaijan Border
OREANDA-NEWS. Azerbaijani troops shelled from howitzers at the border Armenian villages of Aygepar and Movses and attempted to conduct an act of sabotage.
This was reported on July 16 by the press secretary of the Armenian Defense Minister, Shushan Stepanyan, on her Facebook page. “At about 3:40… the Armenian Armed Forces prevented an attempt of sabotage breakthrough of the enemy. After the fighting, the enemy, having suffered losses, was driven back. Then, at 5:20, Azerbaijani units began shelling the villages of Aygepar and Movses with the help of the howitzer D-30. The fire is still going on,” the politician wrote.
Stepanyan noted that there were no casualties among the Armenian military. She also mentioned that the Defense Minister, David Tonoyan, had informed the representative of the Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Andrzej Kasprzyk, about the development of the situation on the Armenian–Azerbaijani border.
