OREANDA-NEWS. The peak stage of coronavirus outbreak in China will occur in about 7–10 days, but a large-scale increase in the disease incidence will not take place. This was stated in an interview with Xinhua by academician, pulmonologist Zhong Nanshan, the head of the special committee of the National Health Commission of the PRC.

“It is very difficult to clearly predict when the peak of the epidemic will come. Although, I think that the peak will come within a week or 10 days, there will be no large-scale growth,” he said. According to Zhong Nanshan, nowadays there is not fully targeted drug that can cure patients infected with coronavirus, but scientists and doctors have already offered a lot of solutions. “Moreover, the technologies of patients’ life support have been significantly improved. The mortality rate will certainly fall,” Zhong Nanshan concluded.
