OREANDA-NEWS In 2024, mandarins from China were able to replace Moroccan ones for Russia, but not Turkish ones. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Rusprodsoyuz data.

It is claimed that 320,000 tons of tangerines were imported to Russia in the first nine months of last year. The largest share was taken by tangerines from Turkey (126 thousand tons, 36 percent), followed by South Africa (58 thousand tons, 17 percent), Egypt (52 thousand tons, 15 percent), China (37 thousand tons, 11 percent) and Abkhazia (27 thousand tons, eight percent).

The top ten suppliers also include Morocco, Georgia, Argentina, Pakistan and Israel. At the same time, imports of tangerines from Turkey and Morocco fell by 18 and 23 percent, respectively. At the same time, the increase in fruit purchases from China tripled, which helped offset the decline in shipments of Moroccan tangerines.

Earlier it became known that China imported 2.9 times more wheat from Russia in 11 months of 2024 than in the same period a year earlier. The supply of domestic barley to China also increased (by 1.9 times, to $ 167.8 million).
