British Minister Announced the Beginning of Clinical Trials of a Vaccine against COVID-19
OREANDA-NEWS. The vaccine against COVID-19 developed in Oxford will begin to be tested in humans on April 23. This was announced by Secretary of State for Health and Social Care of the United Kingdom, Matthew Hancock. The politician informed that the government will allocate 20 million pounds sterling to Oxford specialists to finance clinical trials. Hancock assured that using the vaccine will be started as soon as possible.
It is also known that 22.5 million pounds sterling will be transferred for clinical trials of vaccines conducted at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London.
Currently in Great Britain, 129,044 people are infected with the new coronavirus. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 is 17,337.
