Berlin Police Approved the Holding of the Immortal Regiment Campaign in Memory of Those Who Died During the Second World War
OREANDA-NEWS The Berlin police approved the Immortal Regiment campaign on May 9, subject to one condition: the demonstration of any military symbols, including V and Z, will be prohibited.
«The permission has been received from the police, let's go! We invite everyone who cherishes the memory of the victorious frontline soldiers to take part in the international civil action Immortal Regiment», project coordinator Yana Zaugarova said on May 5.
The action will begin with the formation of the regiment at the Brandenburg Gate at 11:00 local time. The participants of the march will walk along the street on June 17 to the memorial to the fallen Soviet soldiers in Tiergarten Park.
The police will also prohibit the demonstration of the St. George ribbon in any form, any flags and banners, military uniforms and its elements. The performance of military marches as musical accompaniment will also not be allowed. Failure to comply with the requirements will be regarded as a provocation and will result in police detention.
