OREANDA-NEWS. A soldier of the Azerbaijani State Border Guard Service who shot and killed three fellow servicemen has been detained in Karabakh. It was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of the republic.

An Azerbaijani border guard opened fire at his comrades-in-arms on Sunday, the press service said. As a result three people were killed. 

The shooting happened at about 6pm on the territory of the separate border division Gubadli. A border guard sergeant shot and killed a senior lieutenant and two junior sergeants.

After that, the shooter threw his weapon and fled the scene. The Border Guard Service said it was looking for him. "The officers of the State Border Guard Service and the Prosecutor General's Office are taking necessary measures in connection with the incident,"- the statement said.

The press service of the prosecutor's office told Azertaj news agency that officers of the military prosecutor's office and the border guard service inspected the scene of the incident. A criminal case has been opened at the Gubadly District Military Prosecutor's Office.

In April, two conscript soldiers in Mongolia shot and killed a guard commander with an automatic rifle and fled the scene on a motorbike, taking their weapons with them.
