OREANDA-NEWS. Kicking off the EU Sustainable Energy Week Policy Conference today is the opening ceremony featuring European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, Commissioner Miguel Arias Ca?ete, MEP Theresa Griffin, Director-general of consumer association BEUC Monique Goyens and Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency Adnan Z. Amin.

Following the opening session is 'Shake your Power' with Sudha Kheterpal from TedX. She will lead an inspiring session on creating harmonies and innovation in energy.

In the afternoon, EUSEW will turn its attention to the Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform which aims to double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency worldwide by 2030.

The transport sector is also on the agenda this afternoon with the smart energy solutions for transport session.
