Gov't Observed Minute of Silence in Memory of Crimean Tatars
OREANDA-NEWS. The Government observed a minute’s silence in remembrance of Crimean Tatars who lost their lives during the 1944 Deportation.
Opening a Government’s meeting on Wednesday, May 18, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said that today Ukraine commemorates the 72nd Anniversary of the Deportation of Crimean Tatars.
"As you know, today is the 72nd Anniversary of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatars. This anniversary is very difficult in the history of the Crimean Tatar people, our common history," said the Prime Minister.
However, Volodymyr Groysman noted that today, after 72 years, we again have a huge test in our history because of the occupation and annexation of Crimea.
"But I deeply believe that the indomitable spirit of the Crimean Tatar people, indomitable spirit of all Ukrainians will enable us to win in these difficult moments," he stressed.
