Armenian Servicemen Blew up the Buildings of a Military Unit in Nagorno-Karabakh
OREANDA-NEWS. In the Kalbajar District of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, leaving their barracks, the Armenian military blew them up, RIA Novosti news agency reports.
The Kalbajar District comes under the control of Baku. According to the terms of the peace memorandum, the Armenian troops must leave it. The motorized riflemen, who were based there, decided not to leave anything behind, so they blew up their barracks.
“We are removing our forward posts in the mountains and after that we are blowing up the remaining buildings of the military unit so that the Azerbaijanis do not get them. After the explosion, we leave for Armenia. At the moment our unit is one of the last,” representative of the command said.
The personnel left the area before the buildings were blown up. The elimination of military facilities took place under the supervision of representatives of the unit’s command.
Under the terms of a ceasefire agreement signed by the heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev, several districts of Nagorno-Karabakh are transferred under the control of Azerbaijan. At the same time, Yerevan will control the Lachin corridor linking Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
