OREANDA-NEWS. The press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Shushan Stepanyan, reported that on October 21, the air defense units of the army of the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh shot down an airplane of the Azerbaijani Air Forces in the southern part on the contact line.

“The air defense units of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army shot down an adversary warplane in the southern direction at around 8:30 am today. The situation is relatively stable and tense,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

At the same time, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan denied the reports of the Armenian side about the downed plane in the conflict zone. “The information spread by Armenia about the alleged shooting down of an Azerbaijani military jet is false and is another fabrication of the Armenian propaganda,” the press service of the agency wrote on its Twitter page.
