OREANDA-NEWS. Armenia announced the destruction of a large unit of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. The press secretary of the country’s Defense Ministry, Shushan Stepanyan, wrote about it on October 5 on her Facebook page.

According to her, the Defense Army of the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, using a tactical trick, created the enemy’s impression of a retreat and, having lured him into a trap, covered a large unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with powerful artillery fire. Stepanyan noted that as a result of these actions, the Azerbaijani military lost 200 people killed.

On October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The conversation was initiated by the Armenian side. The Russian leader called for an immediate end to hostilities in the region.
