OREANDA-NEWS. Armenia intends to use large-radius weapons against Azerbaijan, the country’s Defense Ministry claimed. Yerevan clarifies that this will be a response to the Azerbaijani side’s use of flamethrower systems TOS, large-caliber artillery and the heavy rocket launchers Smerch.

“The use of TOS, Smerch and other large-caliber systems changes the philosophy and the scale of military operations, elevating them to the new level of escalation ladder. In this regard the Ministry of Defense warns that Armenian Armed Forces are compelled to use pieces of equipment and munitions designed to engage wide area targets. These assets are intended for large and indiscriminate destruction of manpower, and static and mobile property alike,” press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Shushan Stepanyan, wrote on Facebook. However, she did not specify what kind of weapon Yerevan intends to use.
