Armenia Accused Azerbaijan of Missile Attack on Stepanakert
OREANDA-NEWS. Official Yerevan reported that the Azerbaijani military attacked the capital of the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, Stepanakert. The press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Shushan Stepanyan, wrote on Facebook that one blow from the Smerch missile system was carried out, and there were no casualties.
The Nagorno-Karabakh State Emergency Service reported of one dead and two wounded residents of the city of Shushi located 11 kilometers from Stepanakert as a result of shelling from Smerch.
In the morning, Baku accused Yerevan of attacks in several directions, in particular, in the Tovuz, Gadabay, Dashkasan and Qubadli districts. Azerbaijan also reported of shelling of Tartar region by Armenia. According to the Azerbaijani the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, this happened at about 5:30 UTC. Yerevan has not yet commented on this information.
The armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan resumed on September 27. Over the past month, the sides announced a truce thrice, but each time they accused each other of violating the ceasefire.
