Anti-terrorist Raids Were Held in Four Federal States of Germany
OREANDA-NEWS. Berlin Prosecutor’s Office reported on Twitter that police raids against “Chechens from the Islamic environment” were conducted in four German federal states: Berlin, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Thuringia.
Chechens are suspected of “preparing a serious act of violence threatening the state.” The newspaper Bild writes that such a formulation is usually used to describe planned terrorist attacks.
The publication, citing law enforcement agencies, clarifies that suspects between the ages of 23 and 28 are accused of exploring places for an attack. It is known that they were under observation by the policemen “for some time.” According to Bild, at least one person was arrested in the town of Ludwigsfelde (Brandenburg), at least two more men were temporarily detained. During the searches, cold weapons and information carriers were confiscated.
