Annual meeting of new leaders of the World Economic Forum opens in China

OREANDA-NEWS The fourteenth annual meeting of new world leaders of the World Economic Forum, also known as "summer Davos", begins work on Tuesday in the city of Tianjin in northern China.
The event will be held from June 27 to 29 under the theme "Entrepreneurship: the driving force of the world economy" and will bring together more than 1.5 thousand participants from almost 90 countries, including politicians, businessmen, representatives of analytical centers, public and international organizations. Within the framework of the meeting, it is planned to discuss a whole range of issues, including the restoration of economic growth, China in the global context, energy transformation, nature conservation and the fight against climate change, consumption trends in the post-pandemic era and the introduction of innovations. It is expected that more than 25 different initiatives will be put forward within the framework of the forum. The forum will host about 150 events, including a dialogue of entrepreneurs and various subforums.
Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang, WTO Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, President of the World Economic Forum Berge Brende, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Foreign Minister of Ecuador Gustavo Manrique Miranda, Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia Faisal Al-Ibrahim will deliver speeches at the forum.
The forum will also be attended by Chairman of Standard Bank Group Nonkuleko Nyembezi, founder of the African company Rainbow Minerals Patrice Motsepe, Chief Executive Officer of Eurasian Resources Group Benedict Sobotka, founder and head of Contemporary Amperex Technology, one of the largest suppliers of lithium-ion batteries, Robin Zeng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Grid Corporation of China Xin Baoan, Chairman of the Management Board, Chief Executive Officer of Ant Group Eric Jing.
The organizers expect that the forum will contribute to the activation of innovation and entrepreneurship in Asia and around the world, as well as contribute to the study of possible ways of economic recovery and sustainable development.
