OREANDA-NEWS The updated coronavirus vaccine will appear in Russia by August-September, but, as experience shows, its composition needs to be updated every 10 months, so the update procedure should take no more than three months, Alexander Ginzburg, director of the SIC Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Gamalei, told RIA Novosti.

"As the experience of the Gamalei Institute shows, the vaccine must be updated every 10 months, so the update procedure should take 2-3 months at most. Now, of course, it will be more, most likely, this time an updated vaccine will appear by August - September," Ginzburg said.

Earlier it was reported that the Gamalea center has already submitted all the documents for updating the composition of the vaccine against COVID-19, with the exception of one in which the composition of the drug is determined, the center's specialists choose the optimal one.
