OREANDA-NEWS  The water level in the rivers of Sochi may reach unfavorable levels amid heavy rains, an emergency warning has been announced in the city, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory reported.

Earlier, the city hall warned of heavy rains in the resort until the end of Friday.

"In the period of 10-12 hours on January 5 and until the end of the day on January 5, 2024, due to the expected heavy precipitation, water levels are expected to rise in the territory of the city of Sochi, in places with the achievement of unfavorable marks. In the mountainous area, the risk of small-volume mudslides increases," the report says.

Rescuers note that during an emergency warning, it is better to keep the necessary documents, valuables or medicines with you, windows and doors of houses should be closed, and in case of flooding, you need to leave the room.

According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, it is raining in central Sochi now, the intensity of precipitation changes periodically, wind is observed, and the air temperature is 10 degrees Celsius.
