OREANDA-NEWS. As a result of an incident during a training exercise off the coast of Southern California, one soldier of the US Armed Forces died, and eight others are missing.

This was announced by the US First Marine Expeditionary Force on its Twitter page. It is noted that two servicemen were injured. It is known that the incident occurred with an amphibious vehicle. The military personnel belonged to the 15th Expeditionary Unit of the Marine Corps.

A search and rescue operation is under way. The detachments of the US Navy and the Coast Guard are involved in it.
