Almost 50% of Russians Suffered Financial Losses Due To the Coronavirus Pandemic
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the results of a survey of the All-Russian Popular Front Business Platform of the ONF and the Online Doctor service, during the coronavirus pandemic, financial well-being worsened in about half of Russians, namely 49%. The income of 41.2% of the country's citizens remained unchanged, while the financial situation of 2.4% of Russians improved. Meanwhile, 7.3% of Russians lost their jobs.
Almost 57% of Russians surveyed said that working conditions for them remained the same, and 23.9% of citizens noted a reduction in wages.
However, a significant part of Russians felt the negative effects of the pandemic at work. Thus, 10.1% of citizens experience delays in the payment of wages, and 8.9% admitted that employers have begun to reduce their staff.
Meanwhile, 53.7% of Russians indicated that their employers have cut spending on certain items and are awaiting the end of the coronavirus pandemic so that they can return to the previous working conditions.
The overwhelming majority, namely 71.1% of Russians, believe that 10% of the country's companies will not survive the second wave of coronavirus and will close. But at the same time, 70.3% of the surveyed citizens are sure that their enterprises have fully adapted to the new conditions and will be able to work for a long time in the current regime.
According to the survey, the coronavirus pandemic has forced many Russians to reconsider their lifestyle. Thus, 46.2% of citizens are thinking about retraining, and 9% have already started this process. About 28.4% are thinking about a new business, of which 3.9% have already taken their first steps in this direction.
