All Schoolchildren and Students of Buryatia Will Be Tested for Drugs
OREANDA-NEWS A large-scale test for drug use will be held in educational institutions of Buryatia. This was reported on Friday in the press service of the Republican government.
"The head of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov at a meeting of the anti-Drug Commission in the Republic of Buryatia instructed to test school students, students of technical schools, colleges and first - year students of higher educational institutions for the use of drugs," the press service reported.
According to the Deputy Minister of education and science of Buryatia Valery Pozdnyakov, to date, due to lack of funds to conduct drug testing with one hundred percent coverage of students failed.
Tsydenov instructed to calculate how much money you need. "I ask you to prepare a testing schedule, where, when and how much money it will take. It is necessary to conduct a one hundred percent drug testing, to check schoolchildren, students of colleges, freshmen in universities, the task is to identify those who are already involved and warn those who have not started," the press service quotes the words of the head of the region. The Republican Ministry of health Tsydenov instructed to study modern methods of drug detection and prepare proposals for their use.
The Republican program "Improvement of public administration"is being implemented in Buryatia. Districts receive grants on carrying out of measures on destruction of wild cannabis chemical means. "In 2018, on the terms of co-financing, 2 million rubles were allocated to seven regions of the Republic: Kyakhtinsky, Dzhidinsky, Selenginsky, Ivolginsky, Tarbagatay, Mukhorshibirsky and Bichursky. The state program also finances a number of activities, including testing of adolescents and young people for drug use," the press service added.
The law on voluntary testing of schoolchildren for drugs and psychotropic substances has been in force in Russia since 2013. Аor children up to 15 years the decision to pass the tests is made by parents, after 15 years-the children themselves. It should be noted that students can opt out of this test.
The objectives of the bill stated the identification of risk groups, as well as the timely provision of medical and psychological assistance to students whose tests revealed a positive result.
