OREANDA-NEWS  Anton Alikhanov, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, proposed discussing partnership in energy engineering with the BRICS member countries, in particular, joint production of gas turbine units for the fuel and energy complex, he said.

"I also propose to discuss partnership in energy engineering in general, and engine building in particular. We can talk about the joint production of gas turbine installations for the fuel and energy complex of our countries. The same applies to cooperation on engines for marine, railway, aviation and space technology," Alikhanov said, speaking at the Eighth Meeting of BRICS Industry ministers.

"The development of these technologies can become a driver for a number of related industries and the development of new competencies in our countries. We see very good prospects here, taking into account our existing experience and developments, as well as the expanding capacious market in the BRICS space," he added.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also proposed to establish a systematic dialogue with the BRICS countries in the field of industrial development support. According to him, this may include regular online meetings, during which participants will share their experience in facilitating the implementation of industrial and scientific projects, help companies find technological partners and explore new markets together.

BRICS is an interstate association of Brazil, the Russian Federation, India, China, the Republic of South Africa (since December 2010), as well as Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia, which joined them on January 1.
