OREANDA-NEWS A large fire is being extinguished in Gatchina, Leningrad region, on the territory of a factory where acetone is produced, the Committee for Law and Order and Security of the region reported in its telegram channel on Friday.

"At around 6 a.m., a fire was reported on the territory of the acetone production plant. According to preliminary information, a two-story building is on fire, and an acetone spill has occurred," the report says.

The fire has been assigned the second rank.

According to the press service of the government of the Leningrad region, two brick buildings on the territory of the factory on Industrialnaya Street are on fire. According to preliminary information, the company's employees left the danger zone in a timely manner.

Air samples are taken in the city for the maximum permissible concentration of hazardous substances.

Earlier, with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, it was reported that in Gatchina, a two-story brick building with an area of 1.6 thousand square meters was on fire in the industrial zone. There was no information about the victims.
